You Say Tomato...

Ah HA! More plastic but this time with pastels (my fave!). I could work on this forever and it's not as tight as I might have liked.

I CANNOT believe that you did this in pastel. I really would like to see how you work, where you start, how you finish. I never leave your site uninspired.

Great piece Johnnie --

Suzanne - you always say the greatest things. Thank you. I did not take any WIPs on this one. Very often on large pastels, I tend to work from upper left to lower right to keep from smudging things. I'll find a WIP and post it soon. Again thanks.

M - thank you.

Love, love, love your pastel work and have missed seeing it.

Is there any medium you haven't mastered??

ej - thanks! I still think pastels are my favorites, but they are so hard to sell in this area. And all that glass and framing seem to add so much to the cost of getting them out there. Ya know?

Hi Johnnie - thanks so much for your visit to my sketchblog. I hear what you're saying about pastels, and I think sadly that attitude is rife everywhere, not just where you are. But ultimately I have faith that high-quality pastel work like yours is what will eventually change that attitude ... Don't you love it when someone exclaims, "I never knew you could achieve that with pastels!"? :-)
